Aruba: A Travel Guide to Paradise

Travel Savvi - Savvi Scoop Blog and News Updates

Are you dreaming of vacationing on a tropical island where the sand is powdery white, the ocean is clear as can be, and the palm trees are gently blowing in the wind? Then we highly recommend this southern Caribbean Island. Keep reading for a full Aruba travel guide.

Where is Aruba

Aruba is located at the southern tip of the Caribbean, just 30 miles north of Venezuela. Together with Bonaire and Curacao, Aruba forms a group called the ABC Islands. Aruba is also part of the Dutch Caribbean Islands. There are nonstop flights to Aruba from many major US airports, including Atlanta, JFK, Miami, Newark, Charlotte, Ft. Lauderdale, Boston, Houston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Dallas, Chicago, and Minneapolis.

When to Visit Aruba

Anytime! There isn’t a bad time to go to Aruba. Since this Caribbean Island is outside of the hurricane belt, you can go almost any time of the year and not worry about bad weather. Aruba consistently ranks as having the least amount of rainfall in all of the Carribean (only 15 inches a year), so say hello to plenty of sunshine.

Who

Aruba is an ideal destination for everyone, from couples to families to groups. It is a very safe island and has activities for every age and romantic experiences for couples.

Where to Stay in Aruba Travel Guide

There are 3 main areas of Aruba to stay. They include Oranjestad, Eagle Beach, and Palm Beach.

+ Oranjestad: If you enjoy a city vibe in the tropics, stay in or close to Oranjestad. This is the capital of Aruba.

+ Eagle Beach: Located just slightly north of Oranjestad is Eagle Beach. This area is ideal for those looking for a quieter beach vacation experience. Eagle Beach is very laid back with expansive large beaches. It is great for the active traveler who likes to go on runs, walks, or bike rides because there is a separate path made for these purposes.

+ Palm Beach: Further north from Eagle Beach is Palm Beach. This area is the center of the action. There are great restaurants, shops, and bars. If you like to be near great beaches with a lot of nightlife, Palm Beach is your spot.

All these areas have great accommodations to choose from. Whether you want a romantic hotel for a honeymoon, a large rental for a group getaway, or anything in-between, you can find it in one of these three locations throughout Aruba.
